The Oblate Sisters of the Assumption

The Assumptionist are helped by the Oblate Sisters.

The Congregation of the Oblate Sisters of the Assumption was founded in 1865 by Father Emmanuel d’Alzon who introduced them as auxiliaries of the Assumptionists in Bulgaria. Assumptionists had been sent there in 1862 at the request of the Pope Pie IX.

They are now present in 23 countries. After working in Notre-Dame de France in the 1930s, they came back to Jerusalem in 2003 in Saint-Peter in Gallicantu to help with the welcoming of the pilgrims .
